“Our vibrant and forward-thinking city is so proud that NICA is located within it, helping to put the UK at the forefront of the longevity economy. As a city, we are determined to maximise social and economic opportunities that support healthy and independent ageing, and the work of NICA is already having a positive impact on people who live, work, study, and invest in our great city. No day is the same – new projects, new collaborations and new ideas that bring people together for common good. I could not be prouder to support NICA to amplify its voice”

Kelly is a communications and marketing professional with more than 15 years of experience. After graduating in 2003 from Northumbria University with a first-class honours in Marketing Management, she kickstarted her career in advertising, working for a leading city centre advertising agency. She then went on to work for one of the largest housing associations in the North East for almost 8 years. She joined Newcastle Gateshead Initiative in 2018, a public and private sector partnership, that positions Newcastle and Gateshead as an international destination of choice.

Kelly works with NICA on a consultancy basis, working in partnership to promote our region on a global stage and on projects that facilitate economic growth. She works with the team at NICA to demonstrate the power and influence NICA has as pioneers of the longevity economy. She is responsible for media relations, working with partners, stakeholders, and key influencers to maximise the profile of NICA among regional, national, and global audiences. She is passionate about driving economic growth in Newcastle and Gateshead, inspiring people to visit, live, learn, work and invest in the region. The city’s research strengths and expertise in ageing play a critical role in the city’s future and Kelly is proud to play her part in helping to create a world wherein we all live better, for longer.
