“Technology can help us in a lot of ways, the most important is to provide support to those who need it most. NICA understands this importance and I feel proud to be part of a team working under this principle.”

James is a Software Engineer at NICA. He provides the technical knowledge needed to support the team and partners of NICA to deliver results.

James started his career working as a researcher in Technology Enhanced Learning after earning a master’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction. Over time he has moved into full-time software development, a field he has now worked in for almost 10 years. James has worked on many facets of software development including data-visualisation, full-stack development, and solution architecture. James intends to use his passion for supporting research which will benefit others and his experience of software development to support the NICA team in achieving its mission.

James continues his work in supporting Technology Enhanced Learning research in his spare time, consulting with several organisations including the British Museum, The University of Illinois, and Durham University. He has authored and co-authored a number of publications on this topic.
