“I am really passionate about the human focus of our work that brings the data to life and creates opportunities for people to share their stories. It’s a privilege to work with people in our VOICE network and to learn from their experiences and ideas. Working together in cross-sector and multi-disciplinary teams means we can combine knowledge and resources to tackle big societal challenges, and based on an understanding of lived experience.”

Anja is a Senior Innovation Associate at NICA and works in both national and international projects to develop research and data insights which can add ageing intelligence® to ageing and longevity.

Anja has a background in research with a PhD in human geography gained through Newcastle University’s Centre for Urban and Regional Development Studies (CURDS). Prior to joining NICA, she worked with OpenLab at Newcastle University. Her work at NICA currently includes leading a partnership in longevity with Nordic and Baltic nations, and working with the World Bank.

Anja is very interested in how research and the insights it provides can enhance and further our understanding; and in how bringing together experts, professionals and researchers from across the world we can share best practices and work towards making a better world.
